In March 2020, San Francisco enforced mandated quarantine for all citizens in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. My school started online learning, and this pandemic has shifted my perspective on the world drastically. As humans, we like to think we are in control because the control provides us with a sense of certainty and safety. I have come to realize that nothing ever is set in stone, and things can always change.
This upcoming school year is my official last year of high school as I am a rising senior. I am nervous about how this school year will play out because of the pandemic, but I know the in the end, we will be okay.
We all are always looking out for what’s next, but maybe we should focus on the here and now.
