This illustration is an abstract representation of social connections after COVID. Despite the internet being a constant gateway to social interaction, after quarantine it’s felt more like a barrier than anything else. I tried to recreate this feeling in a pen and ink-wash drawing that I colored digitally. The drawing depicts flimsy wires connecting small cages scattered across an asteroid-like object. I tried to give the piece a cold tone to express my discontent with this status-quo; even though relying heavily on online interaction has become the new “normal,” I don’t feel like it is a sustainable way to move forward socially.
