In this piece, my goal was to use only lighting to connect to the greater theme “Support Through the Screen.” I used different dilutions over a rough sketch to create a value drawing of a face lit only by the light of a phone. I think it’s interesting that a complete inversion of sunlight’s light and shadow shapes is becoming so common, and how such an image can still be more comforting than strange.
