The Days of Wine and Roses is a song that was written by Henry Mancini. It was released along with a movie of the same name. The lyrics to this song reminisce over a past relationship with a loved one, which is why I chose to arrange it for the guitar and play it for the February theme of Love! While I did not sing them, you can still read the lyrics below:
“The days of wine and roses laugh and run away like a child at play
Through a meadow land toward a closing door
A door marked “nevermore” that wasn’t there before
The lonely night discloses just a passing breeze filled with memories
Of the golden smile that introduced me to
The days of wine and roses and you”
