When I first read this theme, I immediately thought of how I see myself compared to loved ones. I also wanted to challenge myself by using a different medium, so I used watercolor pencils, watercolors, and pencil on mixed media paper. In this piece, my friends are seen through the “rosy lens”, while I am gray and washed out. My friends are everything to me, and I always want to put myself before them. If I had done anything differently in this piece, I would have used a colored pencil was sharper than the watercolor pencil I used. I also would have only drawn the top picture instead of all three pictures because of the repetition of drawing the same figures.
