When I was first presented with “Escapism,” I thought a lot about the current quarantine situation. Many people cannot go outdoors and spend time working from home, baking, doing art, and going online. Personally, I am on electronics a lot and I wanted to reflect how even in dark times like these everyone has outlets. There is light coming from a few sources, showing escape and representing the light at the end of a tunnel. There is a lot to grasp and I tried to go for a much more simplified style with this piece, making it look unfinished as the sense of the real world is faded away.
