Not Done Yet

On March 13, 2020, Breonna Taylor was a 26 year old who was fatally shot in her own apartment by police officers during a no knock search warrant. She wasn’t a suspect in a drug case and she was in bed at the time of the shooting. Breonna worked as an EMT and ER technician who had hopes in becoming a nurse. At the time she was killed, she was working as an essential health care worker during the Covid-19 pandemic.

With this piece I hoped to honor Breonna Taylor and use this as a reminder of who she was; a peaceful, kind person who always showed kindness and stood up for what she believed in. She is one of many who were killed by the hands of a police officer and whose murderers walk as free men. She is another person who’s life has been cut short too early by the hands of police.
