Natural Release

In this piece, Natural Release, I decided to use the idea of escapism in several different ways. Here I have used the idea of escapism in a literal sense, where the painting will escape with any of its surroundings, but it won’t get lost in it. This is also a kind of spiritual escapism, but that can be experienced more personally. What I mean by that is, just creating this and being able to bring these images to life, was a form of escapism for me. This may not resonate with everyone in the same way, but I hope that with the open background, imagining this painting in front of different settings helps you escape.
