I’ve always wanted to cover this song, and when the theme for this month was revealed as escapism, I instantly knew I had to do this one. To me, I’ve always interpreted the song as an invitation to new ideas and unexplored places, and I think right now that’s what we all need during these trying times. It’s really quite easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, and in a time where we need to slow down given the circumstances, it’s almost forced us to look around and take in what we may not have before. I think this song is not only about making new ideas and grandiose products, rather it’s conveying that something really spectacular and beautiful can be made from something simple and straightforward.
